In today’s episode of Fakewhale Live, host Jesse Draxler and Andreas Gysin chat about Andreas Gysin’s creative practice.

In particular, Gysin talks about how he combines his graphic design background with technology, programming, and generative art to create his diverse and ever-evolving pieces.

Ever-evolving processes, which have led him to crypto art, which began as a spin-off of his work with his partner (with whom he has a design studio with today), confined to ASCII art experimentation. 

Gysin expresses his preference for creating art that does not require audience interaction or engagement, but he is also aware that involving the audience in the artwork can make them more captive and more likely to like it: the dichotomy he sees is between preserving control and gaining a larger audience by giving up control of the art.
