PRESSKUCHEN, pieces under pressure by Oliver Bleckmann, Patricia Falk, and Arvid Jansen, curated by Oliver Bleckmann and Arvid Jansen, at LABOR Galerie, Cologne, from 04/10/2024 to 24/10/2024.
The PRESSKUCHEN tour offers artists the opportunity to develop structures and networks across various cities. It uses the gesture of staging and the structure of the stage itself, highlighting and doubling the staged nature of exhibiting. Proceeding from the idea of bringing individual positions together that have been developed over the years, without having to subordinate them to a specific theme. The tour travels through cities such as Leipzig, Berlin, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Munich, Graz, and Vienna. Born out of a shared frustration with the purpose-oriented art scene and the desire for added value within the art business, the tour focuses on finding and developing formats for young artists that circumvent these tendencies. The conventions of artistic production and its representation in conventional exhibition spaces are explored, with support from Witte Barskamp GmbH & Co. KG, EZS Identtechnik GmbH, and Smurfit Westrock. The project is organized by Oliver Bleckmann and Arvid Jansen with graphic design by Alena Eisenmann.
