In conversation with Jesse Draxler
During this episode of Fakewhale Live, Skygolpe and Jesse Draxler engage in a deep discussion that revolves around Jesse’s career, his art and his NFT experience.
The conversation starts with a throwback to his journey from the early days of Tumblr, where he developed a following through social media and networking: focusing on how technology enabled him to gain an audience and build a career online.
They then go on to talk about artistic turning points in Jesse’s artistic career — from his first big milestone, having his work published in the New York Times in 2011, to the publishing of his first book and how in 2014, he was able to quit his job and start focusing full time on his art.
From this point onwards, follows his work in fashion for editorials and campaigns, as well as his first solo shows and the publication of his 200-page art book and his journey to the present.
With his art, Draxler attempts to translate the world and show people what he sees: He views his art as artifacts of a generative machine that takes in all the information of the world and produces something new.
