With a diverse body of work, over the years Kevin Abosch gained international recognition for his thought-provoking and boundary-pushing creations which have been exhibited at prestigious institutions worldwide, including the Hermitage Museum, The National Museum of China, The National Gallery of Ireland, Jeu de Paume, and ZKM. 

Pioneering the Digital Frontier: Blockchain and NFTs

In January 2018, Kevin Abosch minted his first work with the IAMA Coin Project, which featured 100 physical artworks printed in blood connected to an edition of 10 million virtual artworks entitled “IAMACOIN.”

As Kevin Abosch seeks to challenge conventional ideas of value and identity through his art, he incorporates a variety of techniques and materials — from the use of blood as mentioned above for the IAMA Coin Project, but also cryptographic alphanumerics to create unique works, as seen in his “1111” project.

In particular, he is interested in the interdependence of the physical and digital realms, as evidenced by his commissioned work “Persistence” for The Box at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery in London, where the piece explores the contradiction of an infinite, eternal digital space that relies on physical hardware to exist.

Other notable works include “Potato #345,” a portrait of an organic Irish potato that sold for €1 million in 2015, and “Yellow Lambo,” a neon work informed by a unique and indivisible ERC-20 token YLAMBO—an early NFT.
