Exhibition Text:
CTRL+ALT+REPAIR at Moesgaard Museum, Aarhus, is the first solo museum exhibition by Nestor Siré and Steffen Köhn, bringing together a body of research-based artworks created over the past five years. Their collaborative projects investigate how Cuban communities have addressed their lack of internet connectivity by creating extensive alternative infrastructures, such as grassroots computer networks and offline “sneakernets.” By exploring the resilience and resistance inherent in these local systems, their work reimagines these networks as credible alternatives to the capitalist, consumer-driven digital infrastructures dominated by Big Tech, which have homogenized the global internet. Work list: Memoria [2023] PC Gamer [2024] Sneakernets and Copy Houses [2023] Fragile Connections [2022] ŠÇRËĖNWÅLK [2022] PakeTown [2021].
