In conversation with Stefano Contiero
During this episode of Fakewhale Live, host Jesse Draxler chats with Italian visual artist Stefano Contiero.
As the conversation begins, they mention how they met in Venice a few months earlier and were both part of a show at the Central Art Pavilion during the Biennale, before discussing the NFT scene in Los Angeles and New York.
Stefano explains what generative art is and how it can take different forms and how according to him, generative art is any process that has an autonomous decision-making process, whether it be code-based or natural: Spiders, for example, can create webs that can be considered generative.
He also mentions that generative art does have to be mathematical, as everything in the world can be translated into data points.
As the conversation progresses, Jesse and Stefano provide valuable insight into generative art, as well as the different ways in which it can be applied in the art scene.
