In conversation with Jake Fried

In this episode of Fakewhale Live, host Jesse Draxler chats with painter and animator Jake Fried about his work, influences, and thoughts on art.

At the beginning of the conversation, Jake explains how he got into the industry and how the process of painting became more interesting to him than painting itself. In addition, he discusses his work as an animator and painter, and how they are similar yet different.

In particular, Jake shares how he was fortunate to have mentors and teachers who took interest in him and helped him develop as an artist. He also teaches at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and he shares the joys and challenges of being a full-time artist, and how teaching helps him stay creative and motivated.
